*Euterpe oleracea, common name: Acai Palm *A gorgeous, fast growing palm from the Brazilian rainforest, famous for some of the most delicious and nutritious berries known. Leaves are long and elegant, leaflets hang almost straight down, creating one of the best tropical silouettes of any palm we know. Fruits(Acai Berry) of these can be eaten and are typically made into a tasty juice, smoothie, or put on breakfast cereal. *A rapid grower, favoring shade to filtered sun when young, then growing into full sun as it matures(6 feet or taller). Ultimately, these can reach heights of 30 feet or more, prefer a fast draining soil, thrives in humidity, and enjoys plenty of moisture in the warmer months. These are strictly for those that do not experience frost or temperatures below 40F. A Zone 11 climate or higher. We have grown these quite well indoors given ample light, average moisture, and an occasional shower. *Note: Please be aware, another ebay seller is selling Euterpe edulis as a clumping palm, and the Acai Berry Palm, which it is neither.
